Know the feeling when it’s hot outside, the sun is burning down on you and all you seem to be able to think about is the cool, refreshing taste of homemade ice cream? Well, this week’s Wanderlust Wednesday has you covered. We went to Chicago (again) to visit some friends and were surprised by a new (at least new to us) ice cream parlor, that has the people of Wicker Park waiting in line to get their sweet treat.
Jenis Splendid Ice Creams is on Milwaukee Ave in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of Wicker Park and will fulfill your deepest and darkest ice cream fantasies 🙂 The smell of their homemade cones and the plethora of amazing ice cream flavors will have you salivating as soon as you step into the shop.
We went on a Friday evening around 11pm and still the line was out the door! But let me assure you, this treat is worth the wait. The staff is super friendly and will help you decide which flavors to combine if you have trouble choosing. I went with the Blueberry+Lemon Buttermilk Frozen Yogurt and the Ultramarine Blue. It was heaven in a cone!
So if you ever find yourself in Wicker Park this summer, go check them out. It will be worth your time.
