it’s Wednesday again and after weeks of radio silence, I got a new tip for you guys. As you all probably guessed we love to eat, we especially love to eat good 😉 I already told you guys that I lived with a chef the three-month I stayed in Chicago and he always has the best tips on where to go out to eat in the city.
On our last visit to Chicago, he took us to Balena. A really cool, industrial chic restaurant in Lincoln Park. From the moment you walk in the door your jaw will drop in awe of the absolutely gorgeous interior and believe me when I tell you, that that won’t be the last time if you’re planning to eat there. We had an array of different dishes we shared so we could try a lot of different flavors. My absolute favorites were the Melon Salad and the Pana Cotta. It was unbelievable fluffy in texture. It nearly felt like eating a cloud. I loved it and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best damn Pana Cotta I ever ate.
One of the things I loved most about the interior was the original decor and the huge windows through which you could take a look inside the kitchen. The bar was just genius and the staff was super friendly and competent. All in all one of the best dining experiences in Chicago, even though the prices are a little more than you would pay in a neighbourhood restaurant, it is well worth it. So the next time you find yourself in Chicago, go and have a look, you won’t regret it.
